Cub Scout craft ideas

Well the school season is almost here so I am going through all my craft supplies to check what I need for scouts this year. I am trying to put together a craft demo for the other leaders so we can have a craft it up night to make ornaments. I have my Pack O fun magazines saved and use them frequently. I will try to put some instructions up for the ones I will use.
Drinking straw, pipe cleaners, and beads to make stars. Paper plate easy wreaths, pine cone ornaments and more.

Camping and meals

Our camping trip starts tomorrow ,but I think I am going to sneak in one more beach day then head up to the mountains. I need to finish grocery shopping and pack the trailer ugh! I am trying to come up with a family meal for my anniversary. Didn't think 15 years would be go so fast and really didn't plan on camping for it ,but we will be with our friends and family so it will be fun.
I was thinking maybe kabobs because they are fun to do with the kids and peppers are on sale woohoo. Any idea that is able to be cooked on a grill would be fine. Well off to shop and pack.

Bike Trek

Wow! I am still resting from our 8 mile trek through Loantanka Brook reservation. Beautiful!! But I am sore. The scouts were troopers, it was a long ride but fun. I think I am going back next week to ride it again. If I can exercise and get my nutrition scale working I think it may help.
I cooked flounder on the grill last night in the Reynolds Bag . I breaded it with flax seed, basil and parsley, put in some fresh garlic and tomatoes, Yum was it good. I made baked potatoes too that was my downfall needed cheese and sour cream. oh well!

Beach Day

Woohoo! Hope we get another awesome day at the beach! The kids will be boogie boarding and then off to Hoffmans for amazing ice cream. I believe they are ranked top in the state for chocolate chip mint. I am black raspberry fan ,but my son loves ccm.
School supply shopping has started. Staples, Shoprite and Walmart have had the best prices for things so far. I am starting to think of my lunch menu planning ugh! I just picked up the Paula Deen cookbook for kids to see if I can get some fun ideas. But ... OMG my daughters friend intro'd us to these coco pop things. It is wheat rice corn and sea salt that is it. spread Nutella or PB and J on these babies and it is delish! There is virtually nothing in it. They sell them in the fruit market by our house and I was told Shoprite has them too. It is great if you are watching carbs. I highly recommend everyone to try them.
Well ,need to pack stuff up for a fun-filled day.

Fun places to visit in NJ

Well everyone knows the obvious, beaches, boardwalk and the Deleware River but there's so many we forget. The State Parks offer so many programs and they are free for the most part, some charge a small fee. Beautiful scenery and awesome fishing. I had my first bass of the season during a camping trip at the Wading River. Camping is just a great way to travel but I love the Marriot so any place can be fun. We even went to the Atlantic City Aquarium and actual got a chance to visit Lucy , the Margate Elephant. It was soooo cool and educational as well. AC is known for it's gambling but they re-designed it by the basin and it was so quaint not scary like so many parts. Shopping of course is fun, but not with kids, girls we need another moms only trip. The Morristown area is like being in a mini NY city, dining, shops, theater. The group is divided between Rock and Country, but we all agree on Captain and diet soda .
Our next excursion is hopefully to Insectropolis in Toms River, I will need to check to see if the Ritacco Center is having the Toms Riverfest this year. The PA Poconos is close by and you can drive to the NY Catskills. Never listen to the GPS little sweet girl voice either she is clueless. I have been working on a set of links for a scouting packet so I will try to organize it and post about places to visit.

Summer is flying by.

We have been making lots of smoothies with our leftover fruits. Strawberries, blueberries and bananas. I wish I clould use my juicer everyday, but with the price of fruit that would be a chunk of change. We have been using our imaginations more too. Taking our old worn out clothes and making jean pillows. The kids are even dressing up putting on shows, I think did I really wear that stuff. The little Meet the Jahoobi's skit has been added too and now they are waiting to make more. The youtube video for that is funny.
The moms have even gotten to see a few concerts this summer and despite the rain and cool temps hit the beach a few times YEAH!
